Just something I would like to see for a change
if you are going to go del AI, then at least offer your alliance members WAR before you quit so they can take back your planets into the alliance...
Perhaps offer them to TRADE your ores too since often they gave some of them to you first.
And it would't hurt to LET THEM KNOW before you just up and quit....
Sheesh ... just a few manners is all I am asking ! ! !

Do that without offering ALL treatied empires war and there would be some locks
Screamie is right. Also, If you have an alliance created try to lay out the ground rules of your alliance in the beginning so whoever applies to the alliance knows what to expect before the game progresses any further. This way there is no unexpected problems along the way. Because everyone in the alliance has the equil chance of winning in the alliance. But, if you and the rest of your alliance mates exclude one member of any chance to win a position fairly. then expect the possibility of that member quitting. An Alliance is a team of people working together. If the alliance does'nt work together. For insight. If you want everyone in your alliance to login at a certain time then plan for it ahead of time so everyone knows because not everyone playing this game goes to high school, Theres many players that are professionals in there careers and so forth so ask your team when they can login at a
certain time or you the email outside of the game for
communication--but everyone needs to be informe not just certain few <~~~ this spells disaster

Why would it caused accounts to be locked
If you ASKED someone to do that then yes I can see why...
but for the ones who just fold for no apparent reason, and take all their territory away from their alliance who are tied up in high treaties??????
why shouldn't they at least be expected to reduce their treaties before they go so that their alliance has at least the same chance as others to regain that territory

this is why you ask Raven to nullify the treaties

The planets of your ex-member no more belong to your alliance than they do to any other players in the arena ... a lock would occur (in my opinion) because they were giving people from your alliance an advantage that someone else did not have ... which is why I say they need to offer war to ALL empires they have treaties with ... the ore gifting can be a tricky subject too

hmm let me just clear this up for you
you can gift your ore to anyone you want.. there is no restriction on giving your ore away .. and you cant be locked for it
As to an alliance member leaving the arena.. He cannot gift his planets just to his alliance.. as screamie so rightly says.. they dont belong to the alliance and the alliance has no claim on them.
A leaving players has a few options
They can just leave the arena (not say anything to anyone, this is not the nicest way to leave, but often done)
They can retire from the arena
or the best way
They can tell everyone they are leaving and cancel all treaties with Everyone (this gives everyone a sporting chance to benefit from them) and then retire from the arena.
In this way .. no one is locked for farming !
If an empire tells you he is leaving and gives you all the information regarding his planet defences and an indepth list of cords this is also classed as cheating as it gives an unfair advantage to the player receiving the info and is also a lockable offence.
An empire that tells only his alliance members or just one single player he is leaving and only cancels his treaties with them/him (offers them war) is not only gifting his planets (being a farm) but is ruining the chances of the alliance members/single player as they will also be locked for farming.
As always if your not sure ask.. send a message to support if your unsure about a players activities or if you see suspicious behaviour..

are treaty limits not erased when a player goes del ai? i know treaties are void after 100 turns of inactivity, but i thought once a player went del ai, they were void as well? or have i been away from ferion so long that i am hallucinating?

Nah, when you have high treaties with someone and that someone goes Del AI, you've got to wait for the treaty delays to run down--all of them.

you can still declare war after 100 ticks of inactivity though
